When it comes to versatile foods that live in the background, it is hard to beat Cream of Mushroom Soup. This soup is delicious on it own, can be used for cooking light meats and poultry or it can serve as the basis of a sauce.

One of my favorites involves all three. Here is a look at one of the most popular recipes that involves Cream of Mushroom – Chicken with Rice. The soup adds it’s own delicousness without much flavor adjustments, it is used to cook the chick and serves as a sauce over the rice.
